Parenting is an experience like no other. As much as you want to fully-prepare yourself for such a monumental task, every day is pretty much a work in progress that one doesn’t simply “master”. You might as well expect the unexpected – it does come with a slew of surprises here and there and the occasional curve-ball from time to time.
7It Will Be Expensive
Not quite the shocker, I know. But get this, according to the USDA, the average cost of raising a child from infancy to adulthood for a middle-income family is approximately $245,000. Yes, almost a quarter of a million dollars. That figure includes food, housing, health care, transportation, clothing, education (primary and secondary only) and other miscellaneous expenses. Don’t let the number scare you off though. With a little bit of advanced planning and some budget restructuring, you’ll be surprised by how manageable the whole experience really is. In no time you’ll soon realize that the amount of happiness a child brings into your life is absolutely priceless.
