19 Weeks Pregnant – Pregnancy Week by Week

Your pregnancy

Apparently, you have gained some weight, and your breasts changed its shape and size. Your skin becomes dry because of the hormone imbalance, so it is possible to feel it itching. Just nourish it on a regular basis with your everyday creams. You can also reduce your skin problems by drinking plenty of water during the day.

Baby development

From now your doctor begins to measure your child from head to toe. Growth in length slows down a bit for a while, but the baby gains weight rapidly. Baby organs still mature. If you carry a girl, her ovaries have already created primitive egg cells. Milk teeth buds have developed and permanent teeth buds begin to form below them. Together with lanugo mammals (tiny hair on the baby skin), vernix caseyose (a white cheese-like mixture that protects the baby’s skin) begins to form. This mixture is necessary to protect its skin. This is a normal phase in baby’s development. Imagine how you would look like if you were staying in the water for nine months!

A baby’s brain now creates specialized areas for smell, touch, taste, hearing, and vision. It can hear sharp sounds from the outside, and you can feel it when she is “surprised” by them. The hair on your child’s head is sprouting. Its length is about 6 inches, and it weighs about 0.5 pounds.

Tip for this week

There are exercises for pregnant women which prepare their body for delivery. Inform yourself about it and start doing them every morning. It will help you to go through the labor as comfortable as it is possible.
