3 Weeks Pregnant – Pregnancy Week by Week
Your womb is now a central place for all the main events! You may already feel different. Pain in your stomach similar to menstrual pain is a common sign of early pregnancy. You might feel tired, as like you caught a cold. Your breasts are going to be extra sensitive. Your body produces a lot of estrogen and progesterone hormones which make your breasts retain fluid.
If you didn’t plan your pregnancy, then noticing all these changes might frighten you! It is the truth! Your life will change dramatically throughout the next nine months, but at the very end, your fairy tale is waiting to begin!
Your child is now a blastocyst – a tiny ball composed of several thousand cells that are multiply very fast. This ball is now nesting in your womb. Meanwhile, your body has started to produce an amniotic fluid – a liquid that your blastocyst will use as a comfortable bed for months. Now it receives oxygen and nutrients but also eliminates waste through a tiny tube attached to the blood vessels of the uterine wall.
Tip for this week
If you are too impatient to find out are you pregnant, testing hCG hormone will help you. One part of the blastocyst transforms into placenta that produces the pregnancy hormone – hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin). Testing the presence of this hormone will confirm your pregnancy. But, if the results are negative, don’t lose your hope. Test again, because the analysis is more accurate if you wait a few days or even a week after missing a period.
